Moon’Doc – Realm of Legends (2000)

MoonDoc_RealmLegends4 out of 5 Stars!

After they both left Victory in 1995, accomplished guitarist Hermann Frank (ex-Accept) and—eventually—seasoned drummer Fritz Randow (ex-Eloy) joined up once again in Moon’Doc.

Of the German group’s three albums between 1995 and 2000, Realm of Legends (the final one) is perhaps my favorite, where Moon’Doc yet again offered up some slamming, melodic Heavy Metal not too dissimilar in style from Accept, Thunderstone, Firewind, Masterplan, Kenziner, and Hermann Frank’s own solo releases, and that’s not too surprising, considering vocalist Jürgen Wulfes gruff and powerful performance, which would seem perfectly at home on albums by any of the aforementioned groups.

It’s a shame the underrated and obscure Moon’Doc didn’t last longer to create additional albums of this high caliber.
